THE MODERN HOTEL OPTION
DAY 1 - Arrival Day: Arrive at Mendoza City International Airport (via Santiago, Chile or Bueno Aires, Argentina). You are greeted at the airport by your bilingual host who is a member of our hospitality team. Ground transfer to your hotel.
Check-in, relax and freshen up, then your host will take you on a city tour so you become familiar with the wonderful downtown area; including top restaurants, shops, wine stores, theatres, parks, and services.
Real Estate meeting with your Southern Cross Land hosts to discuss your specific interests, and to discuss Tierra Mansa, a private vineyard community. We will also explain the general real estate purchasing process, including the only documentation you need for this; a CDI, which is a tax ID number for foreigners.
Relax back at your hotel on your own.
Welcome dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. This will be a treat, and we’ll pick out some great wines to introduce you to Mendoza. Optional after dinner: Enjoy Mendoza’s night life.
Overnight at your hotel. (The Modern Hotel. This is a luxury all-suites hotel just two blocks from Plaza Independencia).
DAY 2 - Breakfast at the hotel, then your host will pick you up for a full day wine tour in the Luján de Cuyo area. This is an important wine region about 30 minutes south of the city. Examples of wineries you will visit for tastings include: Ruca Malen, Melipal, Septima and Largarde, with a lunch, tour and tasting at Bodega Decero.
During the tour the SCL staff will discuss the winemaking process for private label wines, and the options for making your own wines. You may not realize it, but you could have your own private label wines immediately. We will also discuss the economics of planting and maintaining vineyards, and the real estate options in this area.
When the day's tour is completed, you will be driven back to your hotel. You will have time to relax, perhaps walk around the city, shop, get a massage, and get ready for dinner.
Your host will take you out to one of Mendoza's best restaurants this evening where you'll enjoy a special menu prepared just for you. Optional: Taste the nightlife scene with flamenco music and dancing demonstration, and more vino including some of our sensational sparking wines.

DAY 3 - Breakfast at the hotel, then your host will pick you up to take you to Valle de Uco—to the Tierra Mansa private vineyard community project—where you will have an outstanding day. You will have a traditional asado with the SCL group while touring the project and learning about the opportunities here—land appreciation in this growing area, significant rental income from the homes, vineyard production and private label winemaking. And you can sample some of our private label wines.
Stephen Vletas will be available throughout the day for private one-on-one meetings.
Also, our architects will be available to discuss the custom home options, and our agronomist will be available to discuss the vineyards.
Later in the afternoon you will drive through the valley to see some individual properties, and learn about real estate values for these properties compared to managed vineyard communities. We will also ask you about flexible activities for Day 4, so we can customize that day based on your specific desires.
Late afternoon arrival at Valle de Uco Lodge, in Colonias Las Rosas. This is a splendid wine country retreat overlooking Malbec vineyards and the Andes Mountains. You will have time to settle into your room, relax, then have a traditional Argentine dinner with Valle de Uco wines. Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 4 – Breakfast at the lodge, then your host will pick you up for a full day tour of Valle de Uco and its world class wineries. First you'll enjoy a tour and tasting at Bodega Salentein. This winery is located at 4,000 feet with spectacular views of its vineyards and the glacier-draped mountains beyond. The marble-floored wine tasting room is one of the most spectacular anywhere, and surrounded by 5,000 oak barrels of aging wine. The day will continue with a group lunch at one of our favorite local spots, and additional winery visits.
The tour route will take you through some additional areas of Valle de Uco where you will be able to see different types of properties, and understand the different areas of the valley; from a real estate perspective, a vineyard perspective, and a lifestyle perspective. There is flexibility in this day for people within the group. Based on what you have decided, you can visit Tupangato, a town much like Sun Valley in the 1960s, or other specific properties.
Stephen Vletas will be available throughout the day for private one-on-one meetings.
Return to Valle de Uco Lodge. Relax, walk through the vineyards, and enjoy a cocktail hour highlighted by Pisco Sours. Dinner at the lodge with Valle de Uco wines. After dinner, a tasting of specially selected late harvest wines. Farewell remarks by your SCL hosts.

DAY 5 - Breakfast at the lodge, then you will be driven to the airport for your departure flight, or to your hotel in Mendoza City if you have chosen to spend some extra days. We are happy to arrange extra days for you.
If you have decided to purchase property, you’ll be able to follow-through on this purchase process at the Southern Cross Land office, and we’ll be sure to have you at the airport for your departure if you are leaving this day.
